An identity of its own
I designed sidebar and notification icons, gave buttons expressive type, bold borders and hard shadows, and added playful animations to give the interface more character.

A more distinctive visual identity and a more welcoming first experience.
I discovered Colonist as a newcomer to Catan. A few matches in, I was having fun, but the first steps took some figuring out. That shaped my direction: a stronger visual identity and a friendlier introduction, while keeping Colonist’s soul.
A self-initiated exploration for this application.
I designed sidebar and notification icons, gave buttons expressive type, bold borders and hard shadows, and added playful animations to give the interface more character.
A gameplay video at the top gives newcomers a feel for the game before jumping in. A more structured home helps make that first step clearer.
I brought social links into the main experience to make the community easier to discover and give players more ways to stay connected.
From websites to game interfaces, I like taking the idea all the way to the screen.
Original game interfaces, player-facing platforms, and reusable systems for iGaming products.
From interface design to interaction in Godot.A website I designed and built, connecting visual design with the details of implementation.

Different identities.
A considered point of view.
I’m Martin Etchebarne, a design engineer based in Buenos Aires.

I’ve been drawn to design and frontend development for as long as I can remember, freelancing before moving into full-time work in 2022.
Since then, I’ve built player experiences, led a team of five frontend developers, and worked on the systems that keep interfaces consistent across brands.
I enjoy working with teams that keep looking for ways to improve, even beyond the brief. I like a design process that helps uncover opportunities, explore solutions, and refine the experience. That’s the mindset I’d bring to Colonist.
I’d love to bring this care to the Colonist team.
Thanks for taking a look around.
